The Osteria del Pozzo Vecchio is not just a simple Osteria… It was born in 1952 as a “Putea di Vino” (La Putea te lu Pellegrinu) and then, through transformations and expansions, it became a real “Trattoria” already in 1994, when it took the name of “Osteria del Pozzo Vecchio” after the discovery, inside the garden until then unused, of the ancient Well. We can, therefore, with a pinch of healthy pride, say that this place is history, a history of good cooking, tradition, passion but, above all, it is a place where you can rediscover authentic traditional cuisine, the one made of bright colors, real aromas, unique and natural flavors, the one prepared with love and passion, a cuisine made of ancient “techniques”, able to truly enhance the raw materials of a fantastic territory like our Puglia. A kitchen that uses, for the little that it does not produce in-house, small artisans of flavors, who create extraordinary products ... In a warm, welcoming environment, steeped in history, thanks to the ancient Well, a small and very private "museum" of old agricultural and artisan tools and a collection of "old" wines, now unobtainable, the time of the guests is marked, with products of absolute quality, fresh, genuine, with zero km vegetables, grown in their own countryside or on the land of farmer friends ... And, then, the cooking in the ancient wood-fired oven, the true "treasure" of our Osteria! The pasta is homemade and the pastry is rolled out with a rolling pin ... The catch is that of the day, directly from the fishermen of Salento ... The meat comes only from selected farms ... Our Pizza is made with special flours and the dough contains a "secret" ingredient ... In short, our kitchens are a production laboratory! The menus, , follow the seasons, respecting the precious alternation… Many dishes, now “lost”, that you will find again and many others that you will never have tasted or, perhaps, only heard in the stories of parents and grandparents… We will let you taste the recipes of our chefs and those of grandmother Maria who, at 93 years old, gave us an extraordinary gift… her notes, collected in old notebooks, as precious as they are full of love, testimony of true cooking, history of lived cooking…! And then the beers, many, all artisanal and the wines, the true treasures of Puglia, that we will be happy to recommend to you… In the summer, you can also enjoy the outdoor garden, next to the old well, among flowers and bougainvillea, in the shade of the lemon and orange trees or under the characteristic reeds, with an extraordinary pergola that boasts 5 different varieties of grapes… Now, browse our “Carta dei Sapori” and Buon Gusto!
